overblown, knee-jerk reaction of the anti-cannabis

"I
am writing because I am very concerned at reading the
story about William. I am not convinced that the way he
is behaving is down to cannabis. My thoughts are that he
has manic depression. I'm not sure if he has been
assessed for this, but it can easily be
missed.........."

"I
was sent your article by my ex-husband. My husband works
out of the country for 6 months per year and I have
therefore been coping largely alone. We have a son who
has been through this experience and is on a sometimes

"Your
story has hit a nerve with me. My son is 24 and now
suffers from cannabis induced schizophrenia. He has
been in hospital twice, the first time he was sectioned
as the voices were telling him to commit suicide. After
stopping him from his attempt he was sectioned and spent
6 weeks in a secure unit before moving to a non secure
unit where he was for another 3 months. He does not
accept that cannabis is harmful, he denies that he is
smoking but there is the signs. He admitted himself
back to hospital just recently after the voices were
gaining hold. He is home again but lacks motivation to
do anything other than pace. I wonder how it all will
end!"
"I
think you were very brave to publish your story. I read
some postings on this site and think there's something
some people don't get. There is a big difference between
someone puffing away recreationally and someone having
problems with it. That is ADDICTION.........."
